    ASPEN - Clearly frustrated after generating little on offense in the first 9 1/2 minutes, Aspen's Cody Horn decided to force the issue Wednesday afternoon.

  • Former Aspen police officer walks away with $10K in severance
    ASPEN - Valerie McFarlane, the Aspen police officer who left her post last month, resigned and was given $10,000 from the city as part of a severance package, according to records released Wednesday.
    The terms of a release and waiver agreement stipulate that McFarlane cannot sue the city of Aspen for issues arising from her employment at the police department, which began in August 2008.
    McFarlane and Alissa Farrell, director of the city's human resource department, signed the agreement March 8. The city released the agreement following an open records request from The Aspen Times.

  • Riverside, Coal Ridge Winter Art Show a hit
    The Coal Ridge High School and Riverside Middle School first annual Winter Art Show reception was held March 3 at Patti's Main Street Coffee House. Twenty-five students from Coal Ridge High School and eight students from Riverside Middle School have artwork displayed in two themes, Winter and Radial Symmetry. Students worked in a variety of media to create unique pieces for the show, including pencil, pen and ink, watercolor, digital photography and colored pencil.
